HISTORY OF THE ORGANISATION

Anchored in the north Bihar district of Muzaffarpur, Kanchan Seva Ashram, a non-government organization set up in 1994 has catalyzed remarkable changes in the lives countless people particularly rural & urban women, Rural health worker like ASHAs, AWWs, marginalize community, Farmers & youth.

Today KSA stands tall as the foremost NGO in the district, having spearheaded action programmes in education, healthcare, micro-finance, environmental protection and rehabilitation. Encouraged by the results, organization has broadened its reach to cover the district of Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Sheohar, Samastipur, Saran, Nalanda, East & West champaran & Begusarai.

Today KSA stands tall as the foremost NGO in the district, having spearheaded action programmes   in   education, healthcare, micro-finance, environmental   protection   and rehabilitation.  Encouraged by the results, organization has broadened its reach to cover the district of Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Sheohar, Samastipur, Saran, Nalanda, East & West champaran & Begusarai.

Yet, in the midst of the outstanding achievement, former KSA Secretary, Mr. Vijay Kumar, recalls the key challenges the organization encountered in its initial years. In 1994 with a mere Rs. 6,00 /- in hand but the nineteen initial members manfully encountered every challenge, be it in terms of financial resources or delivery capabilities. What’s more, the headcount continues to rise as KSA enhances its geographical and sectoral presence.
